The rooms were clean and comfortable. All the staff were pleasant and helpful. In particular the restaurant staff were extremely friendly and helpful and were only to pleased to be of assistance. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Staff were most friendly, rooms were clean and tidied on a daily basis. Meals were excellent, especially the breakfasts.

The fact that the Restaurant (which was open on a morning for breakfast) was closed each evening of our stay (Sunday - Wednesday) We had to eat in a Public Bar. Whilst this was not a problem it would have been preferable to eat in the restaurant, especially as the hotel was graded as a 4 Star.

Agnes in the bar/restaurant was an absolute star. Nothing was too much trouble. All staff we encountered were friendly and professional. Lovely breakfast. Excellent location .

The room was plagued with moths! The hotel appears to be in the process of being refurbished and it is certainly overdue.

Clean, well-appointed rooms;towel warmers in the bath room,; excellent restaurant; Friendly and helpful employees;Lovely location across from the castle and along the river; sitting room/lounge area was warm and inviting.

It would have been helpful to have a "Business Centre" or computer available to guests.

the staff, very friendly and attentive. The room we just loved the executive room overlooking the river wow. would stay again in a heartbeat and have put a positive review on trip advisor, well done Columba, oh and free parking 11 out of 10

the previous occupant had smoked in the room, you will never stop lazy people from walking down to the outside area to smoke, not the hotels fault, they even left the lipstick stained doubts on the windowsill, we just opened the window to freshen, but the room was great anyway.

We booked 1 night stay for 2 adults and 2 children for £68.00 on a DB&B basis are were very impressed. The staff were all incredibly friendly and efficient and the 3 course meal we received was excellent!

The only thing that let the hotel down slightly was the room. Although it was comfortable it was a bit tired and in need of some tlc. For example the bathroom door didn't shut property and the toilet handle had to be pushed a certain way to flush. I can't comment on the shower as we took the kids swimming in the morning so didn't use it. All things considered we felt it was excellent value for money.
